2011年7月19日     横浜市

プロスパーネット－スコーパス若手研究者賞は、アジア太平洋地域を拠点とし、サステイナビリティの分野で著しい貢献をした若手の科学者や研究者へ毎年贈られる賞です。この賞は、サステイナビリティ性に重点をおいた研究活動や大学院教育に携わり、博士号取得後5年以内の若手の研究者を対象としています。

2011年は、サステイナビリティのためのICT、生物多様性及び天然資源管理、貧困撲滅を目指す科学技術という3分野の研究者に賞が贈られました。

3人の優勝者及び6人の準優勝者と三位入賞者は、2011年7月13日にフィリピン、ケゾン市のフィリピン大学ディリマン校で行われたシンポジウムで各自の研究について発表を行い、賞を授与されました。

各分野の受賞者は、次の通りです。

「持続可能性のためのICT」分野

• 優勝： Arul I Chib

  研究テーマ： ICT as a tool to support marginalized poor communities’ needs, especially in health and education

• 準優勝： Qixin Chen

  Tsinghua University, China

  研究テーマ： Power systems management and optimization with particular focus on decarbonization of the power sector

• 三位：Sapna A. Narula

  TERI University, India

  研究テーマ： Communications applied to problems in agriculture and food security in poor rural populations in India

「生物多様性及び天然資源管理」分野

• 優勝者： Junguo Liu

  Beijing Forestry University, China

  研究テーマ： Water, ecosystem service and river restoration

• 準優勝： Jeff Powell

  University of Western Sydney, Australia

  研究テーマ： Biodiversity and ecosystem functioning in microbial communities

• 三位： Hongchen Jiang

  China University of Geosciences, China

  研究テーマ： Geomicrobiology and biogeochemistry in extreme environments

「貧困撲滅を目指す科学技術」分野

• 優勝： Rajeev Bhat

• 準優勝： Yunfeng Lin

  Sichuan University, China

  研究テーマ： Application of NIR spectroscopy technique in rapid detection of agri-product quality

受賞者は、文献における被引用数、発表論文及び特許の質、実証できる社会的影響という3つの基準をもとに選ばれました。受賞者には賞金が贈られ、またドイツ連邦教育研究省国際局からドイツの研究グループと1年間協力するための旅費と生活費を含むフェローシップが与えられます。
